What are the antibiogram and the antimycogram?
The antibiogram and the antimycogram are laboratory tests used to determine which drug is most effective in fighting an infection.
- The antibiogram is performed when there is a bacterial infection. The laboratory analyzes the bacterium found in the swab and checks to which antibiotics it is sensitive and to which it is resistant. In this way, the doctor can prescribe the most targeted treatment and avoid ineffective therapies.
- The antimycogram, on the other hand, is used to test the sensitivity of fungi and yeasts (such as Candida) to various antifungals, in order to identify the most effective drug to treat the infection and avoid ineffective therapies.
These tests are very useful to avoid unnecessary therapies or drug resistance, ensuring truly effective treatment for each person.
Duration of the meeting: 15 minutes
Preparation before the exam:
Do not use vaginal or local therapies (even non-pharmacological) for at least 3 days before the exam.
Abstain from penetrative intercourse for at least 3 days before the exam.
Booking Methods
I perform exams at the following locations:
Tuesday afternoon and Friday morning → Brescia, Via San Zeno 85, at Inanna.
Thursday afternoon → Castel Mella, Via Alberto da Giussano 35, at Kineticost.

How are the results managed?
The collected sample will be correctly transported by me personally to the reference laboratory (Cerba Healthcare Italia). Once ready, the results will be sent to you as per our agreements, accompanied by a clear explanation and useful advice. If necessary, I will direct you to the most suitable specialist for further investigations or treatments.
The reporting times vary depending on the exam:
- Swabs require 4 to 7 days
- Pap tests and HPV DNA can take up to 7-10 days.
Costs and payment methods
Payments: The service can be paid on site with all traceable payment methods. No medical referral is necessary, as the service is performed exclusively in a private form and is not refundable through the NHS.
Deductible health invoice: The cost of the service is deductible as a healthcare expense and includes both the laboratory fee and my fee for performing and transporting the sample.
Revenue stamp: For invoices over €77.47, a €2 revenue stamp is required, which will be added to the total amount.
